Van driver ‘hell bent on causing carnage’ stopped on M56
The driver was stopped by officers from Greater Manchester Police’s traffic division on the M56 at just before 5pm on Monday March 4.
Officers say that they has to make a “split second decision” about stopping the driver.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “The moment one of our officers had to make a split-second decision to stop a driver, hell bent on causing carnage on the motorway!
“Having already rammed numerous members of the public for no reason, the van driver then did a ‘u turn’ to drive contrary to the approaching traffic.”
An image supplied by police[1] at the scene shows the van turning towards the oncoming officers.
As yet no further details have been released about the identity of the van driver or the penalties[2] that were handed down.
