A47 at Necton reopens after crash between car and van

The A47 at Necton has reopened following a crash between a car and van this morning.

The stretch of road between Swaffham and Dereham was closed by National Highways following the collision, which resulted in an oil spillage[1].

The road remained closed while recovery and clear up works were ongoing, with drivers experiencing delays of at least 20 minutes in the area.

National Highways has confirmed that the road has now reopened.

Police were called to the collision at 7.20am this morning.

Those involved are believed to have suffered minor injuries, but the air ambulance was called to the scene.

Fire crews from Dereham and Swaffham attended the incident too, making the scene safe and releasing vehicle occupants using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Their stop message was received at 8.22am.
