All the Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire roadworks to avoid this week

Families in one part of the city have now got their second lot of temporary traffic lights in less than a week. A large hole has been dug on Baddeley Green’s[1] Baddeley Green Lane with three-way lights put in place.

That comes just days after four-way lights had gone up on the nearby Milton crossroads where telecommunications works took place on Saturday.[2] This time around and the works by Gilman Avenue is a scheme by Severn Trent Water with engineers on the stretch until April 25.

Meanwhile over in Loggerheads and a lorry fire has forced the arrival of temporary lights. StokeonTrentLive reported yesterday[3] how the blaze saw Newcastle Road shut off.

Now Staffordshire County Council has confirmed the area will need to be resurfaced.

Councillor Mark Deaville, cabinet member for strategic highways at the local authority said: “Our highways teams dealt with a lorry fire on the road which meant it had to be temporarily closed. The road has reopened with temporary traffic lights in place. Some resurfacing of the road is now required which will be carried out when crews are available.”
