A busy motorway has been closed for hours after a lorry crashed on a flyover.
We previously reported that the M73 slip-road southbound has been shut[1] heading onto the M74 at around 12.30pm on Thursday, April 4.
This was due to a collision and drivers were being urged to avoid the area.
Now over seven hours later, the area is still closed and cops have revealed that the collision involved a lorry on the flyover.
Recovery is underway and a fuel spillage is being cleaned in due course.
A Police Scotland[2] spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, police were called to the M73 at the M74 flyover, following a report of a one-vehicle crash involving a lorry.
"Recovery was arranged and partners contacted regarding a fuel spillage on the road.”
