Car driver dies in crash with lorry

A 57-year-old man has died in a crash involving a lorry.

The collision happened on the A68 near Bingfield, Northumberland, at about 13:20 BST on Friday.

The man who died at the scene was the driver of a Mini Clubman car which crashed with a heavy goods vehicle.

Police said the reasons for the crash were “yet to be established” and the lorry driver had remained at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries.
