Caravan damaged in crash on A17 at Sutton Bridge

A caravan was significantly damaged in a crash on the A17 which created long tail backs on Good Friday.

Emergency services were called to the A17[1] at East Bank, near Sutton Bridge at 10.30am following a collision involving a van and a car towing the caravan.

Police say no injuries were reported as a result of the crash but it did create problems for motorists.

A police spokesman said: “There was also a lot of mud on the road as a result of the collision, and both lanes were affected while it was cleared. The vehicles were recovered and the road was reopened at 1.39pm. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience while this collision was dealt with.”

Traffic congestion had been reported between the Wisbech Road roundabout near Long Sutton, and Terrington St Clement in Norfolk on Good Friday as a result of the collision.
