Driver walks away with minor injuries as A50 crash with lorry leaves Audi marooned
The driver of an Audi involved in a crash with a lorry on the A50[1] in Stoke-on-Trent was lucky to walk away with only minor injuries.
The dual carriageway remains shut in both directions[2] as of 5.30pm this afternoon following the collision on the eastbound side which left a white Audi marooned on the central reservation.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were all called to the scene at Normacot at 3.45pm today (April 3).
Now Staffordshire Police have confirmed the drivers of both vehicles suffered minor injuries in the smash. It is not known whether they needed hospital treatment.

“The drivers of both vehicles received minor injuries. Both sides of the carriageway remain closed.”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a lorry on the A50 at 3.45pm. An ambulance conveying a patient to hospital came across the incident and after assessing there were no serious injuries, continued to convey its original patient.
“A second ambulance was sent to the incident but on arrival discovered there were no patients at the scene and was stood down.”
In its latest update, traffic monitoring site Inrix said: “A50 in both directions closed, long delays due to accident at the A5007 (Normacot). Congestion to the A500 for eastbound traffic. Surrounding routes through Longton, Fenton and Adderley Green are also heavily congested.”
