Honda Civic seized after motorway police stumble into ‘pack of boy racers’

A Honda Civic was seized by motorway officers after they stumbled into a ‘pack of boy racers’. Traffic officers from the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) said they came across the group of drivers on the A38 near the M6 Toll[1].

One of the vehicles, a black-coloured Honda Civic, had performed a “childish display of driving”, CMPG said in a statement on X/Twitter. The vehicle was subsequently seized under Section 59 of the Police and Reform Act 2002.

CMPG said in a statement on the social media site: “Having just dealt with a serious RTC on the M6 Toll[2] we have exited on the A38 into a pack of “boy racers”. The brakes have been put on this individual as vehicle #seized under S59 Police and Reform Act 2002 due to a childish display of driving @WMPolice #Streetracing C-Unit.”

It’s the latest alleged incident to involve street racers in the region. Last Sunday, April 21, a street racing suspect was detained[5] on the A47 Heartlands Parkway. They were due to appear at magistrates the following day.
