M1 live traffic updates with delays due to lorry crash between junction 29 and junction 29a

Significant delays have been reported after traffic was stopped on part of the M1 due to a lorry crash. Traffic has just been released on the southbound carriageway for recovery work, with the closure reported between junction 29A for the A6192 Markham Road (Markham Vale / Bolsover) and junction 29 for the A617 (Chesterfield / Mansfield).

The collision is causing wider congestion back to junction 30 for Worksop. Traffic was initially stopped at about 11.30am on Monday, April 29, before traffic was temporarily released until the motorway was closed again. Traffic has again just been released.

Traffic information service Inrix is reporting that there are “severe delays”. it is unknown if more than one vehicle was involved or if there have been any injuries.
