M6 rush hour chaos live as lanes blocked after crash and lorry stuck

Motorists are stuck in gridlock traffic on the M6 northbound this morning, April 25. It comes after a lorry broke down and also a car crash on the major motorway in two separate incidents.

Heavy rush hour delays are expected. Traffic has been brought to a halt between J6, for Spaghetti Junction, and J7, Great Barr, due to the broken down lorry.

Meanwhile the collision happened near J8 but traffic was said to be returning to normal levels. The latest traffic update on Inrix reads: “Two lanes closed.

“Queueing traffic due to broken down vehicle on M6 northbound from J6, A38 Tyburn Road (Spaghetti Junction), to J7, A34 Birmingham Road (Great Barr).

“Accident cleared on M6 northbound from J8 M5 to J9 A461 Wood Green Road (Wednesbury). Traffic returned to normal.”
