Man dies after trailer separates from van

A man in his 50s has died in a crash after another vehicle’s trailer became detached on a main road near Ashford, Kent Police said.

Police said the man was driving a Ford Transit van on the A252 Canterbury Road near the junction with Monkery Lane, Challock at 06:50 BST on Wednesday.

Officers said a trailer being pulled by an Iveco flatbed van travelling towards Charing was reported to have become detached.

It was then in collision with the Ford Transit van which was being driven in the opposite direction, police said.
