Police looking for car which didn’t stop after A38 collision near Coxbench
Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A38 just over a week ago. The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway near Coxbench at around 4.45pm on Sunday, March 24.
Derbyshire police said: “The collision involved a black Mazda MX5 and another vehicle, described as being a Mercedes. The Mercedes did not stop at the scene and we are keen to hear from the driver of this vehicle as they may be able to help with our investigation.
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who has dashcam footage.

Derbyshire Live reported on the incident which led to the closure of the road[2] in both directions from the A61 Alfreton Road, at Little Eaton[3] Island, and the B6179 Derby Road, at Coxbench, at one point and a considerable build-up of queuing traffic in the area. At the time, National Highways said that a car had struck the central reservation and emergency services were called.
The road was reopened after about two hours.
