Severe delays as traffic comes to near standstill on the A47

Drivers experienced severe delays on a major road in Norfolk this afternoon.

Traffic came to a near standstill on the A47 between Honingham and Hockering in the direction of Dereham.

A lane was closed and police waved traffic through in batches as a lorry had its tyre changed in the single-carriageway at North Tuddenham just before the start of Dereham bypass.

One driver reported delays of 20 minutes.

The traffic is now clear after the scene was cleared.
