Temporary speed cameras on M8 in Glasgow as roadworks take place on busy motorway
Temporary average speed cameras located on the busy M8 will now enforce a 40mph limit as resurfacing works on the motorway continues.
The essential roadworks are currently[1] taking place on the M8 eastbound between Junctions 14 and 13, which includes the M80 off-slip road at Junction 1. The works began on February 12 and are expected to continue over the coming months.
To ensure the safety of workers Temporary[2] Average Speed Cameras (TASCAR) at Roadworks systems are now in place to make sure road users adhere to the temporary speed limit.
Much of the work is carried out through the night and this is the time when speeding offences are found to be at their highest.
It is believed that the TASCAR are extremely effective when it comes to improving road safety.
