West Lothian man, 22, arrested after horror four-vehicle crash on busy road
A man has been charged[1] following a collision on a busy carriageway.
The incident happened on April 10 at around 3.30pm on the M8, near Bathgate, with police officers and the Scottish Ambulance Service racing to the scene at the time.
A 22-year-old male has been charged in connection with the four-vehicle crash on the Westbound carriageway.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “”Around 3.30pm on Wednesday, April 10 2024, officers were called to a report of a four-vehicle collision within the westbound carriageway of the M8, near to Bathgate, West Lothian.
“A 22-year-old man was charged in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Ahead of rush hour, Traffic Scotland alerted motorists on X, formally known as Twitter and said: “#M8 – Bathgate
“The Westbound carriageway is restricted due to a collision. Traffic is building rapidly on approach to the incident. Delays are now approx. 22 mins, and likely to build”.
