The white van was reversed at high speed into the station on Princess Elizabeth Way, shortly after 9pm, causing significant damage. The driver, who was described as wearing a balaclava, a dark jacket and light-coloured trousers, fled the scene on foot towards Marsland Road.

Gloucestershire Police[3] suspect the act was intentional and that it was carried out using a stolen vehicle. Officers believe footage of the incident is now circulating on social media and messaging apps and are appealing for anyone with this footage to come forward.

Some damage was caused to the doors of the building and due to this access cannot be gained by the public to reception until they are fixed. The building is open for police staff as normal.

“Anyone needing to report to the station is asked to do so online, except in emergencies when they should dial 999. Anyone with information or footage relating to the incident is urged to provide it to the police online, quoting incident 406 of 14 April.”
