A MOTORCYCLIST who tragically died in a horror crash near a popular Scots beauty spot has been pictured for the first time.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on the A837 near Loch Assynt.

The fatal smash involved a black BMW[1] GS1250 motorbike and a black Honda[2] VFR motorbike.

Jeremy Weekes, 61, from Newquay in Cornwall tragically died at the scene on May 22.

His car was involved in the horror[3] smash with the rider of the Honda bike late on Wednesday night.

Mercy crews raced the 60-year-old man to Aberdeen[4] Royal Infirmary.

Police[5] confirmed his condition as "serious but stable".

The road was closed to allow for collision investigation[6] work to take place.

Police Scotland said: "The rider of the Honda, a 60-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

"His condition is described as serious but stable."

Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Weekes at what is a very difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist and who has not yet spoken to officers is asked to contact Police Scotland[7]."

It comes after police named a woman who tragically died in a horror smash on the A9.

Morven Gordon, 42, from Aviemore died at the scene.

She was driving[8] a Kia[9] Rio which was involved in a crash with a Iveco Daily Van

The male passenger in the car and the male driver of the van were uninjured in the crash.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Slochd[10], in the Highlands, at around 9.30pm on Monday, May 6.

Cops[11] locked down the road for around seven hours to allow collision investigators to conduct inquiries at the scene.
