Holderness Road shut after crash near Ings Road – live updates

Holderness Road is “shut in both directions” near the junction with Ings Road following a crash this morning.

Photographs taken from the scene and posted on Hull Live’s Traffic & Travel[1] Facebook page show police cars blocking the road. A black car appears to have struck a post outside Tesco Express on Holderness Road[2].

In its latest update, the traffic reporting service Inrix said: “A165 Holderness Road in both directions closed, heavy traffic due to accident from Marfleet Lane to Maybury Road.”

Hull Live understands the road may need to be closed while the damaged post is safely dismantled.

Humberside Police[3] has been contacted for comment. We will update this blog as soon as we have more information.
