M4 and M5 traffic live: Crashes causing huge delays in West Country

Two separate crashes on the M4 and M5 are causing huge delays for motorists this evening (Sunday, May 5). One crash has occurred on the M4 westbound which has closed the motorway in that direction.

According to the National Highways, a car on the M4 has struck the central reservation, and emergency services are on the scene. The accident happened between J16 (Swindon) and J17 (Chippenham).

The M5 southbound is also closed due to a collision involving an overturned campervan between J13 (Stroud) and J14 (Stone). There are three miles of congestion.
