Pedestrian killed in A46 lorry crash near Gloucestershire border
A pedestrian has died on the A46 after being struck by a lorry. Emergency services were called to the crash, near Evesham, at around 6am today, Tuesday, May 7, after reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
West Mercia Police has said the pedestrian, who was 28-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed, the force said in a statement.
The A46 has been closed in both directions between Evesham and Tewkesbury[1] throughout the morning and West Mercia Police estimate it will not be reopened until at least 2pm today. In a statement posted to social media, the force said: “At around 6am today emergency service responded to a collision on A46 near #Evesham[2] involving a lorry and pedestrian. Sadly the 28-year-old pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin have been informed. The road remains closed until approximately 2pm.”
