Police car ‘smashed up’ in serious crash on the M27

A police car has been involved in a serious crash on the M27.

The car collided with a white van, which was allegedly spotted driving the wrong way on the Southampton^[1] stretch of the westbound carriageway on Saturday night at around 9.40pm.

According to police, the van caused three vehicles to crash into each other, and the passenger of one of these vehicles suffered a fractured ankle.

The van then collided with the police car, which was en-route to another incident at the time, police confirmed.

According to one Twitter user, who witnessed the incident, he saw ‘a police car all smashed up’.
