Police issue arrest update after two hurt in ‘horrific’ crash in Bolton
A man who was arrested after two people were left hurt in a 'horrific' crash in Bolton[1] has been bailed, police have confirmed.
The smash happened on Bradshaw Road[2] at around 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services cordoned off the area at the junction of Bury[3] Road, Bradshaw Road, Ramsbottom[4] Road and Tottington Road, beside the Walves Reservoir.
Police officers, paramedics and firefighters responded. Two people were rushed to hospital from the scene, Greater Manchester Police[5] said.
Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. A man - aged in his 20s - was arrested on suspicion of drink and driving.
He was also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. In an update issued this morning (Tuesday), a GMP spokesperson said he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
After the crash, a post shared to a local Edgeworth Facebook group, warning locals of the road closures, said: "Horrific accident at the intersection towards Edgworth. The route has been closed in four directions."
