Teen arrested after ‘bladed weapon’ attack in Plymouth

A teenage boy has been arrested after allegedly attacking a man with a bladed weapon in Plymouth[1]. Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Pike Road[2] at around 1.40pm yesterday, Sunday, May 12.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing. Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy shortly after 5pm.

He was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault causing grievous bodily harm. Police believe the suspect and the man are known to each other.

Devon and Cornwall Police[5] said: “Police were called at around 1.40pm on Sunday 12 May to Pike Road, Plymouth, following a report that a man had been assaulted with a bladed weapon.

“The victim had sustained injuries which are not life-threatening or changing. He was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and a cordon was put in place at the scene while an area search was carried out.

“Shortly after 5pm, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody. Both parties are believed to be known to each other.
