Teenage motorcyclist dies after early hours crash with van in Essex

A TEENAGE motorcyclist who was taken to hospital with serious injuries has sadly died after an early hours crash in Essex.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and van on Woodridden Hill A121, in Waltham Abbey, at 5.25am on Thursday.

The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man, was taken on to hospital with serious injuries and has sadly since died.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations were carried out at the scene.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Our enquiries continue and officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision or have any dashcam footage from the A121 in the minutes before the collision."
