Traffic moved off M6 as air ambulance called out to serious crash
This was the moment traffic heading towards the North West was moved off the M6 following a serious crash. Three ambulances were sent out to the scene along with an air ambulance following a collision on the northbound motorway between junctions 14 and 15, in Staffordshire[1], last night (May 28).
Four men were rushed to hospital following the smash, including two who were believed to have serious injuries. The M6 closed at around 9pm yesterday as police and traffic officers arrived on the scene.
It remained shut throughout the night, with one lane also closed on the southbound carriageway. Traffic cameras showed vehicles on the northbound carriageway being moved into the left-hand lane approaching junction 14.
A truck was used to block the M6 close to the junction, with a queue of cars and lorries escaping the motorway at Stafford. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found four patients, all men.
"One of them was treated for serious injuries whilst a second was treated for potentially serious injuries. Two other men were treated for injuries not believed to be serious before all four were taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment."
