Young girl in hospital after crash with van on busy Plymouth road

A young girl has suffered a head injury after being involved in a collision with a van Plymouth this afternoon (Tuesday, May 21). Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports of a crash involving a young child and a van on Peverell Park Road just before 4pm today.

The victim of the crash, a young girl, suffered a head injury. It is not believed to be serious but she is being taken to hospital to be checked over. Police officers remain at the scene.

An eyewitness told PlymouthLive there was a large emergency service presence in the area, They said: “Police presence at Derriford roundabout, possible collision, disrupting traffic.”

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police[1] has said: “Police were called just before 4pm today, 21 May, following a collision between a van and a young child on Peverell Park Road, Plymouth.

“The girl sustained a head injury, which is not believed serious, and is being taken to hospital as a precaution. Officers remain at the scene.”
