Biker badly injured in Birmingham crash with van
A motorbike rider has been seriously injured after a crash with a van in Birmingham[1] near tower blocks. The incident took place in Selcroft Avenue in Harborne[2] on Thursday (June 6).
A biker crashed with a van shortly after 2pm, with two ambulances called to the scene. A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] said: “We were called to reports of a motorbike that had collided with a van on Selcroft Avenue at 2.05pm, two ambulances attended the scene.
“We treated one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist. He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital[4], Birmingham.”
West Midlands Police[6] confirmed the biker had broken his arm in the crash. The force is asking anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward.
A spokesman for the force said: “We were called to a collision involving a motorcycle and van in Selcroft Avenue, Birmingham, just after 2pm today. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm.
