Crash between lorry and car leaves lane closed on major route
A crash between a lorry and a car on the A14[1], northeast of Cambridge[2], left one lane closed earlier this afternoon (June 3). The incident between Nine Mile Hill and Newmarket[3] happened at approximately 1.30pm.
A Cambridgeshire Police[4] spokesperson said: “We were called just after 1.30pm today (3 June) with reports of a collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 near Swaffham Bulbeck.
“The collision involved an HGV and a car. No injuries have been reported.”
Traffic data company Inrix first reported the incident at around 2.40pm, before stating that the incident had been cleared and all lanes were open just before 3pm.
Inrix said at 2.40pm: “One lane closed due to accident on A14 Eastbound from J36 A11 (Nine Mile Hill) to J37 A142 Fordham Road (Newmarket / Exning). Traffic is coping well.”
