Crash closes A35
A main road is closed both ways due to a crash near a major roundabout.
Emergency services were called to reports of a crash about 2.45pm between a lorry and a campervan on the A35 near the Kingston Maurward (Stinsford) roundabout just outside Dorchester.
Fire crews from Dorchester and Weymouth arrived at the scene as well police and the ambulance service.
Firefighters rescued a person from the campervan using hydraulic cutting equipment.
Dorset Echo: Queues of traffic were reported
A road closure is in place on the A35 Dorchester Bypass from the B3150 Stinsford Hill (Stinsford Roundabout) to A354 Weymouth Road (Football Ground Roundabout).
Queueing traffic has been reported at the scene.
The westbound lane has since reopened but the eastbound lane remains shut at 5.45pm
A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: “A road closure is currently in place on the A35 Dorchester between the Stadium and Stinsford Roundabouts whilst emergency services deal with a road traffic collision.
“Please find an alternative route. Many thanks in advance.”

“On arrival crews found a road traffic collision between a lorry and campervan. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue one casualty from the campervan.
“Colleagues from Dorset Police and South West Ambulance Service also attended the incident and road remains closed.
“Firefighters left this incident at 3.50pm.”
