Driver fouls foul of these M5 speed cameras near Worcester

A 33-year-old driver has ended up with a large fine for speeding on the motorway near Worcester.

Alaa Al Hraishawi was caught breaking a temporary 60mph limit on the M5 southbound near junction 8.

The speeding offence charge was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 30.

Hraishawi of Showell Green Lane, Birmingham, was behind the wheel of an MG when he exceeded the temporary 60 mph restriction on November 5 at Strensham Services (junction 8).

A guilty plea was recorded via the single justice procedure on the day of the court hearing after the defendant was caught speeding by an automatic camera device.

He was fined £292, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £116 and costs of £90, a total of £498.

A collection order was made, giving the court extra powers to recover the money.

His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points. His guilty plea was also taken into account when magistrates imposed sentence.
