Gridlock M6 traffic live as drivers stuck in huge delays after lorry pile up

Drivers are stuck in gridlock traffic on the M6 northbound[1] this afternoon after a lorry pile up. Three of four lanes are currently closed between J4A of the M42 and J5 of the M6 for Castle Bromwich.

The smash involved two lorries and a car, according to Inrix. Motorists face delays of around 60 minutes.

National Highways wrote on social media platform X: “The M6 has three (of four) lanes closed northbound between J4a, M42, and J5 Castle Bromwich due to a traffic collision. Currently four miles of congestion.”

The latest update on Inrix reads: “Long delays and lanes closed due to accident, two lorries and a car involved on M6 northbound between J4A (M42 Interchange) and J5 A452 Chester Road (Castle Bromwich).

West Midlands Roads added: “M6 northbound J5, Castle Bromwich. Lane(s) closed. Delays around 50 minutes.”
