Live: M5 traffic standstill after lorry crash near Taunton

Traffic on the M5 northbound is at a complete standstill due to a lorry crash this morning (Friday, June 28) near Taunton. There are currently long tailbacks as traffic has been stopped between junction 25 and 24 at Taunton.

Roads and traffic monitoring site Inrix first reported the crash at 6.50am. It said: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident, a lorry involved on M5 Northbound from J25 A358 (Taunton) to J24 A38 Taunton Road (Bridgwater South).”

It is not currently known how many vehicles are involved, or if anyone has suffered any injuries. Emergency services have been contacted for further information.
