Live updates as police close Switch Island after crash

Police have closed Switch Island following a crash.

Emergency services are currently at the scene following the incident. One eyewitness said a car was reportedly on its roof and further down the road a “caravan was on fire”. Merseyside Police have been approached for a statement.

Merseyside Police confirmed road closures are in place from Copy Lane,[1] Dunningsbridge Road and the Switch Island junction from the M58. Officers have told drivers to avoid the area.
