M42 live as car ‘flips onto roof’ after crash with lorry

Traffic has been stopped on the M42 motorway tonight following a serious crash. The collision involved a car and a lorry between J2 and J3 near Wythall on the northbound carriageway.

Police and paramedics are currently on the scene. Drivers have been warned there is congestion in the area, with queues of two miles.

Highways West Midlands tweeted: “Traffic is held on the #M42 northbound between J2 and J3 near #Wythall due to a collision/overturned vehicle. Congestion of approx. 2 miles, back to J2 #Alvechurch. #WMerciaPolice and an Ambulance are in attendance. Updates to follow soon.”
