M5 speed cameras: Citroen driver’s court driving ban
Christopher Monk was clocked speeding on the M5 southbound near junction 8 (Strensham Services).
Monk received a driving ban and a large fine when the case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The 49-year-old, of Swancroft Road, Tipton, was behind the wheel of a Citroen when he was caught by an automatic camera device exceeding the 60mph temporary maximum speed limit on November 2 last year.
The case was proved against Monk using the single justice procedure on May 16.
He was fined £220, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88 and pay costs of £90.

A collection order was made, giving the court extra powers to recover the money.
Monk was also disqualified from driving for six months.
Court paperwork described the ban as ‘obligatory due to repeat offending’.
His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
