Man dies in A371 Somerset crash

A man has sadly died following a serious crash on the A371 in Somerset. He was one of four people injured in a collision involving a van and lorry on the main road near Wincanton, between West Hill and Gibbet Road, at about 5.20am today, Wednesday, June 26.

SomersetLive previously reported that four people who were inside a van were hurt in the crash[1], with one person suffering significant injuries. In an update this afternoon, a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed one man had died.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, he is believed to be in his 20s. Officers are now trying to trace the man’s family, who are abroad. The three other men inside the van were aged in their 30s and their families have been contacted.
