Pedestrian, 31, dies after being struck by lorry near M6 motorway
A man has tragically died after being struck by a lorry on a major road near Greater Manchester. Emergency services descended on the A556 in Lostock Gralam, in Cheshire[1], in the early hours of Tuesday morning (June 18).
Cheshire Police[2] says a lorry was involved in a collision with the pedestrian at 12.56am. The vehicle had been heading in the direction of Greater Manchester and the M6 motorway.
The pedestrian, a 31-year-old man from Northwich, sadly died at the scene. Police enquiries are currently ongoing following the incident.
Witnesses are being urged to come forward while detectives carry out their work. The force is also appealing for anyone with dashcam video footage that could help them with their investigation to get in touch.
