Tributes for father, husband after A420 crash near Oxford

John Foyle, 37, died after a road traffic collision on the A420 in Besselsleigh around 10pm on Wednesday, May 29. 

Thames Valley Police has released a tribute to John on behalf of his family.

The statement said: “John was the most loved and loving son, brother, husband and father to his most precious sons Oscar and Louis.”

“He was loved by all of his family, close friends and colleagues and to all who knew and loved him.

“We would like to thank everyone who was with John at the scene to try and help save him.”

The tribute asked that the privacy of the family be respected at this difficult time. 

Thames Valley Police is continuing to appeal to anyone with information or dash-cam footage of this collision or the moments leading up to it to come forward.

The incident happened at around 10pm on May 29 as the victim was crossing the road he was struck by a purple Ford Fiesta and black Honda FR-V on the A420 outside the Greyhound public house.

Tragically, the victim died at the scene. 

A 60-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released under investigation.

Besselsleigh is a village about four miles southwest of Oxford.
