Woman killed and four seriously injured in A9 crash

A woman has died and four other people are in a serious condition in hospital following a crash on the A9 in the Highlands.

The 65-year-old was a passenger in a Volkswagen Multivan which collided with a Toyota Hilux near Carrbridge at about 22:15 on Wednesday.

Two passengers in the Volkswagen, a 33-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, the driver, a 64-year-old man, and the 51-year-old male driver of the Toyota were taken to Inverness’ Raigmore Hospital.

Police said their condition was described as serious.
