Woman with life threatening injuries from A35 crash
Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam are being urged to come forward following a serious injury road traffic[1] collision on the A35 Dorchester Bypass near Stinsford Roundabout.
Dorset Police received a report at 2.46pm on Sunday 2 June 2024 of a crash involving a silver Mazda Bongo camper van and a white DAF gas tanker.
Emergency services attended and the fire service assisted with removing the driver of the Mazda – a woman aged in her 50s – from the vehicle.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were subsequently reported to be life-threatening. Her family has been informed.
Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for an examination of the collision scene. These were lifted at around 6.30pm.
Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“There were a number of motorists in the area at the time and I am keen to hear from any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police.
“I appreciate this collision resulted in the closure of a main route for a period of time and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during these closures, which were vital to enable us to respond to and investigate this incident.”
