Young man killed after being hit by lorry
A 22-year-old man has lost his life after being hit by a HGV on the A55 in Chester, police have confirmed. The fatal incident took place around 5pm on Tuesday (June 4), with news of the man’s death announced today (June 6).
Cheshire Police are now urging witnesses to come forward following the incident. It happened on the eastbound carriageway at Huntington, heading towards Liverpool, according to Cheshire Live. The road was shut while emergency services attended the scene.
The pedestrian, a 22-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers. Police investigating the collision are calling for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident, to help with their investigation into the circumstances.
Cheshire Police inspector Steve Griffiths said: “The A55 and surrounding areas will have been busy at the time of the collision, so we are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward to assist us in establishing exactly what happened.”, reports North Wales Live[1].
