A38 crash: Man in hospital after van smashes into truck

A man was taken to hospital following a crash on the A38 this morning (Monday, July 29). Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the collision, which involved a van and a broken down truck, at 8.15am.

Officers closed both lanes on the A38[1] heading southbound near Drumbridges after contents shed from the lorry. This reportedly included bottles of drinks and other food items.

Police said a man was taken to Torbay[2] Hospital. He reportedly suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Officers were called at 8.15am today, 29 July, following a two-vehicle collision on the A38 southbound near Drumbridges. A van was in collision with a broken down truck.

“Officers temporarily closed both lanes to clear contents shed from the lorry [bottles of drinks/foodstuffs]. One man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Torbay Hospital.”
