A500 bin wagon crash leaves man in Royal Stoke

A man has been taken to hospital after an A500 pile-up involving a bin wagon. Police and paramedics had been called to the northbound stretch of the D-road near Etruria[1] where a lane was closed.

Now West Midlands Ambulance Service[2] have confirmed that following the collision a man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[3]. The smash took place between Etruria and Porthill[4] at around 11.55am - with long queues triggered in both directions.

Paramedics say they found two cars and a bin wagon had been involved in the smash. A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC and sent one ambulance to the scene.

"On arrival we discovered two cars and a bin lorry that had been in collision. We assessed one patient, a man, who was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital."
