Armed police swarm East Kilbride street in ongoing incident as road taped off

Police have swarmed a residential street in East Kilbride this evening (July 25) in an ongoing incident.

Lyttleton is understood to be taped off with armed officers[1] and a ‘riot van’ said to be at the scene.

The nature of what happened remains unclear, however, the road has been sealed off while emergency services deal with the incident. It is understood that police scrambled to the scene around 8 pm.

Pictures sent to Glasgow Live show at least six police cars in attendance with armed officers standing outside a property.

An eyewitness said: “There are six police cars and a riot van currently at the scene.

“The guy has streamed the video on TikTok.”
