Biker taken to hospital after ‘serious’ A-road crash near Trowbridge
At around 7.45am on Tuesday, July 30, police responded to the crash and closed the road to all traffic.
According to a police officer at the scene, the biker is no longer thought to be in a life-threatening condition but a later statement says he sustained serious injuries.
A Wiltshire Police statement reads: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A361 southwest of Southwick this morning (30/07).
“At around 7.45am, we responded to a collision between a motorcyclist and a van between Southwick and Rode.
“The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, suffered serious, potentially life-changing injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“The driver of the van was uninjured.
“The road was closed in both directions for recovery and investigatory work and has since reopened.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 45 of today’s date.”
Pictures of the black Suzuki motorbike involved show it with a damaged front wheel.
The road reopened around midday. Wiltshire Air Ambulance and South Western Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
