Live: A38 delays after lorry overturns and spills liquid across carriageway

A lorry has overturned on the A38 in Devon[1], blocking the road and spilling a substance across the carriageway. Emergency services were called to an A38 slip road in Plymouth, between Marsh Mills and Forder Valley, where the lorry had flipped onto its side.

A photo taken at the scene shows a large, eight-wheel vehicle overturned on its side, appearing to block two lanes. Google Maps shows long delays building[2] along Forder Valley Road and Leigham Interchange roundabout, as well as congestion on The Parkway and through Marsh Mills retail park on Longbridge Road.

Plymouth Highways said: "We have had reports of a road traffic incident on the slip road from Leigham Interchange roundabout to Marsh Mills Roundabout. The slip road is currently closed and delays are expected. Updates when we have them."

Devon and Cornwall Police said the driver had reportedly sustained a minor injuries in the crash and the Environment Agency had been called regarding a liquid spill.
