Cameras show vehicles queuing in the Highstreet junction area, with traffic reporting specialists Inrix reporting the accident involved a lorry and two cars.

The Met Office reports temperatures are expected to reach 28C in many areas of the county.

And there are tailbacks up to Brenley Corner on the M2, which will likely have a knock-on effect on those travelling coastbound along the motorway.

The route has been busy in recent days as motorists embarked on summer getaways this Saturday and heading towards the Port of Dover.

The recent bout of hot weather has also attracted more people to the coastline.

Police have been contacted for more information about the A299 crash.
