M1 crash: Man hospitalised after collision between pedestrian and lorry

A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a "serious collision" on the motorway between Belfast and Lisburn this morning, July 28.

At around 6.50am, police received a report that a collision occurred between a pedestrian and lorry travelling on the M1 motorway[1] west-bound. The road, which was closed for seven hours[2], has now fully reopened.

The injured man, aged in his 60s, is in a critical condition in hospital.

A spokesperson for the PSNI[3] added: "An investigation is underway and anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 432 28/07/24.
