M4 live updates as broken down van causes long delays

Motorists are facing long delays on the M4 on Monday morning after a van broke down and blocked one lane.

It happened on the eastbound carriageway between 25A Grove Park and J25 Caerleon. One lane was blocked and traffic was temporarily held as the van was removed to the hard shoulder.

All lanes re-opened around 8.15am, but heavy congestion remains with traffic backed up as far as junction 29 at Cardiff. At 8.25am there were delays of around 25 minutes heading eastbound.
