M6 horror as car overturns with people ‘on the motorway’ after major crash with HGV

A car overturned following a horror crash involving a HGV on the M6 on Monday afternoon (July 29). Police, paramedics and an air ambulance raced to the incident on the southbound carriageway between junction 18 and 17.

Police said that the collision involved two cars and a lorry at around 2.10pm, with one of the vehicles flipping and landing on its roof. There were also ‘a number of pedestrians on the carriageway’.

An air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene of the major collision, near Sandbach, which initially caused all traffic to be stopped as emergency crews attended.
